Abu Dhabi Fund to Aid Countries in Times of Global Meltdown

The Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD) is planning to expand its financial aid programme to eight new countries next in spite of the global financial meltdown. "We are not planning any slowdown of our activities in the backdrop of the financial meltdown. We have enough liquidity to expand our activities. The Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Foundation for Charitable and Humanitarian Works and the Government of Senegal have signed a cooperative agreement. Abu Dhabi Municipality has contracted Emaar Properties to build Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed City in New Cairo, Egypt, at a cost of US$100m (Dh367m).
