UAE plane to transport relief to Sudan's flood-hit areas Posted on 19/11/2008
A cargo plane provided by the UAE to assist in operations to transport relief materials to the areas affected by floods in Sudan, arrived in Khartoum yesterday.
The plane's crew was greeted at the airport by Abdullah Ali Masar, Sudanese Presidential Advisor, Isa Abdullah Al Basha Al Nuaimi, UAE Ambassador to Khartoum and a number of Sudanese officials.

Palestine's largest Rehabilitation centre for disabled children will soon open its doors, thanks to a humanitarian gesture of the Mother of United Arab Emirates Her Highness Sheikha Fatima.

UN to call from Abu Dhabi for World Solidarity against dire humanitarian conditions Posted on 16/11/2008
United Nations will launch a humanitarian unified call in 2009 from Abu Dhabi to mobilise support and aid to help millions of people threatened by the conflicts and natural calamities worldwide.
This will be the first time in which the international body launches its annual call from the Middle East. The move is recognition to the role being shouldered by the UAE in easing burden on the victims of the conflicts and natural crisis across the globe.

The UAE Tuesday presented US$668,000 to the UN in support of the latter's development activities and programmes for the year 2009.

Sheikh Khalifa orders to build thousand homes for flood victims in Yemen Posted on 12/11/2008
UAE President HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has ordered to build a thousand houses for those who lost homes in the recent floods in Yemen.
The tropical storm and torrential rain which hit largely the eastern province of Hadhramawt earlier last month had caused extensive damage in the region. Hundreds of homes made of mud brick had collapsed in the flooding.

UAE planes to bring relief to Sudan's flood victims Posted on 12/11/2008
The Government of the UAE will provide a cargo plane to assist in operations to transport relief materials to the areas affected by floods in Sudan.

RCA launches anti-blind drive in Tanzania Posted on 27/10/2008
An eye care campaign was launched yesterday at the Tanzanian island of Bamba by the UAE Red Crescent Authority.
Ahmed Abdullah Al Ali, head of the RCA, said the campaign ophthalmologists had begun examining more than 100 patients suffering from cataract, glaucoma and squint.
